Farm and Dairy is a weekly regional newspaper with deep roots in the rural and agricultural regions of Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. When I began working for them 11 years ago, they had just celebrated their 100th year and had revitalized their logo and brand identity.  Our composition team worked with them to modernize their traditional print layouts, printing processes and begin the evolution of the paper to help it retain its existing ageing audience and attract new younger subscribers.  For the print portion of that process, my role was to veer away from traditional newspaper aesthetics to create more magazine-like feature story and special section layouts. As a result, I have been recognized with several awards for my editorial design work, including “Addiction: A Rural Reality”, “Rooted and Resilient, Progress Edition 2024”, and “The Racing Report”.
