BRAND MANAGEMENT
During the California housing crisis, a consumer-facing home loan company needed to completely pivot its business model to survive. The goal was to transition from standard consumer lending to high-value, investor-driven commercial and multi-unit property financing. The existing brand looked too retail-oriented and lacked the institutional gravity required to build trust with high-net-worth investors.
The Strategy & Art Direction
I spearheaded a comprehensive visual overhaul to reposition the company as an elite financial partner.
The Logomark: Designed a structural, high-rise-inspired geometric mark to visually anchor the company in the commercial real estate space.
Identity System: Developed a premium visual vocabulary, establishing a sophisticated color palette, architectural photography standards, and rigid layout systems to ensure absolute consistency across digital and print touchpoints.
Campaign Execution: Orchestrated the launch of the new brand across a modern digital ecosystem, targeted advertising channels, and high-conversion direct-mail campaigns.
The Results
The strategic repositioning successfully shifted market perception and insulated the company from the residential market crash.
$500M+ in commercial loans closed post-launch.
100% survival rate through one of the worst economic downturns in California history.
Seamless transition from a B2C retail lender to a respected B2B investment powerhouse.
